New air defense systems for Ukraine are coming, Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief says

Air defense systems for Ukraine, funded by Europe under a US and NATO plan, are already on the way, stated Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi after a conversation with General Alexus Grynkewich, Supreme Allied Commander Europe and a US Air Force general.
"We also discussed the US and NATO plan to get us Patriot systems paid for by Europe to defend our land and save lives," Syrskyi noted.
He expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte for the rapid delivery of these systems.
"They are coming!" the Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief added.
Patriot systems for Ukraine
Recently, US President Donald Trump announced the transfer of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, funded by NATO allies. He stated that Kyiv would receive 17 systems.
Additionally, during the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting, participants pledged further support to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.
Germany’s Defense Minister announced his country is ready to provide two Patriot systems, though he warned this would only be possible if they are quickly replaced.
Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans also declared the Netherlands is prepared to make a significant contribution to the transfer of US systems to Ukraine.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz added that Germany and Norway would make an important contribution to Ukraine's air defense.
However, Germany noted that the Patriot systems mentioned by US President Trump will not arrive in Ukraine before the spring of 2026.
