NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte mocked Russian President Vladimir Putin and his "nuclear threats." He noted that he stopped paying attention to Putin’s statements long ago, according to Digi24.

During a meeting with Romanian President Nicușor Dan, journalists asked Rutte whether NATO would respond to the convening of the Russian Security Council and the Russian President’s threats to "resume nuclear tests." In response, Rutte openly mocked Putin.

The NATO chief disdainfully replied that he had stopped reacting a long time ago to the meetings that Putin organizes, adding that Putin is paid as the president of Russia, which is why he organizes them.

During a Russian Security Council meeting on November 5, Putin stated that Russia would allegedly immediately begin preparations for "full-scale nuclear tests." Meanwhile, the so-called Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov claimed that the US supposedly rehearsed nuclear strikes on Russian territory during the Global Thunder exercises in October 2025.

At the same time, the Kremlin began making excuses after Putin’s statement was published by the media. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov hurried to tell propagandists that it was not about resuming tests, but rather about "assessing their feasibility."

Last week, US President Donald Trump announced that the US plans to conduct nuclear tests. According to him, "other countries" have already done so, so the US should begin as well. Following this, the US military conducted a test launch of a Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile on November 5.
