NATO predicts impact of possible Tomahawk missile transfer to Ukraine

American Tomahawk missiles could complement the long-range weapons Ukraine is already using in its war with Russia, stated a senior NATO official.
He noted that Tomahawk missiles would undoubtedly have an impact on the military situation.
According to the NATO official, the West has already observed significant successes by Ukraine using kamikaze strike drones at considerable distances. NATO has also seen Ukraine deploy a new cruise missile, successfully used for long-range strikes.
"Thus, in all these aspects, the use of Tomahawk would increase capabilities and certain opportunities, while complementing what Ukraine is already achieving," he added.
Tomahawk deliveries to Ukraine
On October 7, US President Donald Trump said he had practically decided on the delivery of long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
By October 13, Trump stated he was ready to provide the missiles, but first needed to talk to Russia to see if "they want to have Tomahawks going in their direction."
Last week, Trump and Zelenskyy held several phone conversations, during which the transfer of Tomahawks was also discussed.
A meeting between the leaders of Ukraine and the US is scheduled in Washington on Friday, October 17. For more details on whether Tomahawk deliveries may begin as a result, see the material by RBC-Ukraine.
