According to the North Atlantic Alliance official, 400,000 Russian soldiers were killed or wounded in 2025 alone.
"We are surprised by the proportion of those killed in Russia’s losses. The Russians are suffering disproportionately high casualties — they are sustaining extremely heavy losses," he emphasized.
According to him, such a high level of irrecoverable losses in Russia is linked to the low standard of medical care on the battlefield.
Russia’s losses
As reported earlier today, February 11, by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the total personnel losses of the Russian army have exceeded 1.24 million, including 820 troops eliminated over the past day.
Since the start of the war, Ukraine’s Defense Forces have also destroyed 11,661 enemy tanks, more than 24,000 armored combat vehicles, and 37,148 artillery systems.
In addition to heavy equipment, Russia has lost a significant amount of assets in the air: 435 aircraft, 347 helicopters, and more than 130,000 operational-tactical level drones.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently told Le Monde that 55,000 Ukrainian service members have been killed on the battlefield since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
