Musk denies Ukraine access to Starlink for strikes on Russia — The Atlantic

Last week, the media reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked his US counterpart Donald Trump to help secure assistance from Elon Musk during their meeting.

As is known, the billionaire's SpaceX operates the Starlink satellite system. Amid Ukraine's shortage of air defense missiles, Zelenskyy wants to use Starlink to help guide strikes against missile batteries that Russia uses to launch ballistic missiles at Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities. However, Trump did not give a clear answer to the proposal.

Mykhailo Fedorov, who was recently dismissed as Ukraine's defense minister, has also been trying to reach out to Musk through back channels. However, sources told the outlet that Musk is still refusing to give in.

On August 5, one of the sources said there was no positive decision at that time.

According to the report, Musk continues to argue with Fedorov over the risk of further escalation of the war by Russia. The billionaire believes it is already time to make peace.
