Musk calls Russian troop withdrawal from Ukraine 'not realistic'

Billionaire Elon Musk said that Russia withdrawing its troops from the occupied territories of Ukraine is impossible. He believes the war should be approached pragmatically, according to The Economist.
During the interview, Musk said that the front line in Ukraine has remained virtually unchanged for the past two to three years, while a large number of people continue to die. He argued that such a situation should not be allowed to continue for several more years.
At the same time, the billionaire said that the scenario of Russia withdrawing its troops from Ukraine is unrealistic, but that a way out of the war must still be found.
"I think there’s a lot of wishful thinking here of people saying, well, Russia should completely withdraw. But this is not realistic. I really think there needs to be some, you know, peace. We need to be pragmatic about this," Musk said.
He added that he is disturbed by these important diplomats who hold lavish dinners at expensive venues and discuss Russia's troop withdrawal while people continue to die on the front lines.
"Russia’s not going to withdraw, there really needs to be an accepted peace along those lines," the billionaire concluded.

As previously reported, in the same interview Musk explained how the Russian military obtained Starlink terminals, which were later used in the war against Ukraine.
According to him, the terminals were ordered through Ukraine and then smuggled to the eastern part of the country, where Russian troops were stationed. Russia subsequently used them on the battlefield, after which Musk and Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers created a "Whitelist" of terminals, leaving the Russian forces without service.
It is worth noting that Musk decided to cut off Russian access to Starlink satellite communications after a drone equipped with a terminal attacked Kyiv's government district in late January.
