The majority of Polish citizens support the idea of shooting down Russian air targets over the country. This information was revealed in a poll.

Respondents were asked: whether they think Poland should shoot down objects flying over the country's territory during Russia's attacks on Ukraine, even if it is not known what these objects are.

This question was answered in the affirmative by 58.5% of respondents, while 22.1% disagreed. Another 19.4% of respondents have no opinion on the matter.

The survey results also showed that women (61%) are more likely to support the shooting down of targets, even if there is no certainty about their purpose, than men (56%). This opinion is expressed by seven out of ten respondents whose income exceeds 7,000 zlotys (about 1700 USD) per month, and the same percentage of residents of the largest cities.

Poland has been providing comprehensive humanitarian and military assistance to Kyiv since the beginning of the Russian Federation's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

However, there is still something that Poland is not ready for, namely, shooting down air targets that fly into their territory during Moscow's massive attacks on Ukraine.

The Polish military has made numerous excuses after missing another aircraft. After another incident on March 24, the military explained that they did not shoot down the Russian missile because they knew it would return to Ukraine.

During one of the latest attacks on Ukraine, a Russian drone landed in Poland. The commander of the Polish Armed Forces announced that the object had “penetrated the territory of Poland.” However, due to weather conditions, the military lost the Russian drone.

Not long ago, Polish President Andrzej Duda emphasized that discussions on the protection of Ukrainian skies were still ongoing within the NATO Alliance.

However, the Polish Ministry of Defense recently stated that Poland is not discussing helping Ukraine destroy Russian missiles and drones.
