Aerial object invades Polish territory on the morning of August 26 during a massive Russian attack on Ukraine. The search for it continues, according to Major General Maciej Klisz, Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces.

"It is likely that an object penetrated Polish territory. The object was confirmed by radar from at least three radar stations," said the commander during a briefing.

General Klisz informed that the object crossed the Polish border at 6:43 AM Polish time, at the latitude of the Ukrainian city of Chervonohorod. According to him, this location has been targeted multiple times by the Russian side due to the power plant situated there.

"The object disappeared approximately 25 km into Polish territory. Due to weather conditions, I could not give the command to engage it because of the failure to follow procedures, specifically the so-called visual confirmation of destruction. The object disappeared from radar systems. It was not detected by either allied or Polish aviation, nor was it visually confirmed by helicopters," he reported.

General Klisz added that the object is likely still within Polish territory, though he did not rule out the possibility that it may have left. "A search operation for the object has begun," he said.

Strike on Ukraine

Recall that on the morning of August 26, Russia launched another massive missile strike on Ukraine. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Russian attack on Ukraine on August 26 is one of the largest. Russia fired more than a hundred missiles of various types and around a hundred Shahed drones.

In response to this massive bombardment, Poland and its allies scrambled their aviation.

During his visit to Kyiv on August 24, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that NATO is discussing the protection of Ukrainian airspace with combat means provided by individual Alliance member states.
