Missile strike on Kyiv - Fires reported in three districts, casualties confirmed

A missile attack on Kyiv on the morning of April 6 has led to fires in several districts, with casualties reported in the capital, according to Kyiv's mayor, Vitalii Klitschko.
Fires have been recorded in the Darnytskyi, Solomianskyi, and Obolonskyi districts of the city.
"In the Darnytskyi district, there are casualties. Medical and emergency services are on the scene," Klitschko informed.
He once again urged residents and visitors of the capital to stay in shelters until the air alert is lifted.
Later, he added that in the Darnytskyi district, medical teams had hospitalized two casualties.
Earlier, the mayor reported that medical teams had been called to both the Darnytskyi and Obolonskyi districts amid the Russian attack involving ballistic missiles.
"Preliminary reports suggest the fall of debris in two locations in the Obolonskyi district, in non-residential areas. Emergency services are on their way," the mayor wrote around 05:30 AM.
Combined Russian attack
On the night of April 6, Russian forces launched strike drones toward Ukraine, prompting air alerts in several regions. Explosions and anti-aircraft defense efforts were reported due to the UAV attack in various areas.
For example, explosions were heard in Mykolaiv during a drone attack, with fires breaking out in two residential buildings and damages reported in the private sector. Three women were injured. The State Emergency Service released videos and photos of the aftermath of the Russian drone attack on Mykolaiv.
Later that night, Russian forces launched cruise missiles toward Ukraine, and air alerts were declared nationwide. There were reports of explosions in several regions, including Kyiv, where anti-aircraft defense operations were carried out, as well as in Kyiv.
Around 05:00 AM, a new air alert was declared in several regions of Ukraine due to the threat of ballistic missiles. Several powerful explosions followed in Kyiv as the city continued its anti-aircraft defense efforts.
