Migrants from Asia forcibly mobilized in occupied territories of Ukraine - NRC
Police in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine are pressuring migrants from Central Asia, forcing them to sign contracts with the Russian military, reports the National Resistance Center (NRC).
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Kremlin has been bringing migrants to the temporarily occupied territories as cheap labor to rebuild homes destroyed by Russia. However, due to a crisis in the construction sector, the industry in Russia is now coming to a halt, and migrants are being offered the option to join the ranks of the enemy army.
"Officially, migrants are summoned for interrogation, where they are offered to sign a contract and promised that they will serve in the second line. However, in fact, they are then sent to training grounds along the contact line and then sent to the local assault zone," the report states.
Situation in the occupied territories
In the occupied territories of Ukraine, Russian authorities have stopped paying salaries to railway workers. At the same time, the Russian forces have turned the depots into repair bases for damaged equipment.
The construction sector crisis, which is also being observed in Russia, is intensifying in the occupied territories.
In the temporarily occupied areas of the Kherson region, the Russian authorities are seizing not only grain from farmers but also vegetables.
