Russians willing to seize farmers' crops in Kherson region
Russian forces will begin seizing not only grain but also harvested vegetables from farmers in the occupied territories, specifically in the part of the Kherson region under occupation, according to the National Resistance Center of Ukraine (NRC).
According to the NRC, the Russians are creating another "state procurement operator" intended to seize vegetables from farmers. Just like with grain, starting next year, farmers will be required to hand over their entire harvest to the state at a fixed price, which will be below market value.
Afterward, the vegetables will be sold at market prices through structures. However, all the differences will end up in the pockets of Russians.
"At the same time, farmers will receive subsidies, which are a method of state control, because, in fact, the Russians deprive farmers of profit and make them dependent on compensation instead," the NRC concluded.
At the end of October, the NRC reported that Russia was planning to export more than 300 tons of sunflower from the temporarily occupied Luhansk region.
