Ukraine no longer has access to satellite images from the American aerospace company Maxar Technologies. The reason is related to the US government's decision to suspend intelligence data exchange with Ukraine, according to Reuters.

Maxar's statement mentions that the company has contracts with the US government and dozens of allied and partner countries, and "each customer makes their own decisions on how they use and share that data."

As noted by the company, one such contract is with GEGD (Global Enhanced GEOINT Delivery program), a US government program that provides access to commercial satellite imagery collected by the United States.

"The US government has decided to temporarily suspend Ukrainian accounts in GEGD," Maxar added.

At the same time, the US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency emphasized that the US has temporarily suspended Ukraine's access to the GEGD system, which "is the primary portal for access to US government-purchased commercial imagery."

Intelligence data exchange between Ukraine and the US

A few days ago, CIA Director John Ratcliffe stated that the US had suspended the exchange of intelligence data with Ukraine.

However, as of today, March 7, media reports indicate that Ukraine has lost access to satellite imagery produced by Maxar Technologies.

According to CNN, the US is still providing Ukraine with "some intelligence data."
