On the night of February 21, Russia attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 120 strike drones launched from various directions. Air defense forces managed to shoot down most of the enemy targets, according to the Telegram channel of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the military, from 6:00 p.m. on February 20 until the morning of February 21, Russian forces launched one Iskander-M ballistic missile from Russia’s Voronezh region, as well as 120 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmass types and other UAVs from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Around 80 of the launched drones were Shahed-type UAVs.

The air attack was repelled by aviation units, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data as of 8:30 a.m., air defense shot down or suppressed 106 enemy drones — including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmass, and other types — in the north, south, and east of the country.

Hits by a ballistic missile and 13 strike drones were recorded at 11 locations, as well as the سقوط of downed drones (debris) at eight locations.

"The attack is ongoing, several enemy drones remain in the airspace. Follow safety rules!" the Air Force warned.

Shelling of Ukraine

It should be recalled that on the night of February 21, Russia once again attacked Odesa with strike drones. According to preliminary information, the drones damaged urban infrastructure and several residential buildings.

Also overnight, Russian forces carried out an airstrike on a private residential area in Sumy. Three people were injured in the attack, including two children.

During the day on February 20, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia. The occupiers struck one of the gas stations in the regional center. Emergency services quickly extinguished the fire, and no casualties were reported.
