Macron and Starmer to host new Coalition of Willing meeting on July 10

French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer are organizing the next meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. It will take place on May 10, according to a statement from the Élysée Palace, as reported by Le Monde.
The head of the French state will visit the United Kingdom from July 8 to 10, where he will meet with the King and address Parliament.
"There will certainly be a discussion on how to seriously maintain Ukraine's combat capability," the Élysée Palace noted.
On July 10, Macron and Starmer will co-chair a meeting of Ukraine's European allies.
During the meeting on Ukraine, Macron and Starmer are expected to hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as other leaders including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
The summit is expected to address the potential deployment of "a reassurance force" in Ukraine after a ceasefire.
Discussions will also focus on "how to increase pressure on Russia to accept an unconditional ceasefire that it has consistently refused," the Élysée Palace added.
Coalition of the Willing
The Coalition of the Willing consists of countries that are considering sending their troops to Ukraine to deter Russia from launching another offensive.
However, while the war continues, there are no plans to deploy European troops to Ukraine.
As of now, Ukraine and Russia have held two rounds of peace talks in Istanbul. During these talks, both sides managed to agree on large-scale prisoner exchanges. However, there has been no significant progress toward peace.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated just yesterday, July 3, in a conversation with US President Donald Trump, that Moscow still seeks to achieve its "goals" in the war against Ukraine.
