'Like zombies': Mechanized Brigade on Russian losses in May

Soldiers of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporizhians eliminated over one thousand Russian troops and nearly two thousand drones in May, according to a statement from the 72nd Mechanized Brigade.
"They [Russian forces] don’t stop. They crawl, swarm, gather, and assault, like zombies. And we continue to hold them back," the defenders said.
According to the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, the total losses inflicted on Russian forces in their sector during May were:

Russia's overall losses in war against Ukraine
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, recently stated that since the beginning of 2025, Russian troop losses in the war have already surpassed 200,000.
In total, since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost over 995,000 soldiers.
On Friday, June 6 alone, Ukrainian forces eliminated more than 1,100 Russian troops.
Despite these losses, Russian forces continue their offensive operations. Just yesterday, there were over 160 combat engagements along the front line, with a third of them occurring in the Pokrovsk direction, where they attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses.
As of 10:00 PM Kyiv time on June 7, the General Staff of Ukraine released updated information on the current battlefield situation.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine also reported that Ukrainian forces struck a locomotive pulling a column of Russian military equipment.
