The so-called Drone Coalition, led by the United Kingdom and Latvia, was launched in January 2024. Its goal is to enhance Ukraine's UAV capabilities for effectively countering Russian aggression.
Drones for Ukraine
Recently, Latvia supported investment in the production of Ukrainian drones. The Latvian Cabinet of Ministers approved an investment of €10 million ($10.69 million) in Ukraine's drone industry.
Additionally, the Latvian government allocated another €20 million ($21.37 million) this year for drone procurement as part of the Drone Coalition.
The United Kingdom has also signed a contract worth over €35 million with an American technology company to supply loitering drones to Ukraine. These new drones will enhance the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s ability to counter Russian aggression.
Moreover, in mid-January, Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovile Šakalienė announced that Lithuania would provide Ukraine with thousands of drones worth €5 million.
