The Latvian Cabinet of Ministers has supported a €10 million ($10.69 million) investment in Ukraine's drone industry, the Latvian Ministry of Defense reports.

“The Cabinet of Ministers has agreed to strategically invest €10 million in the Ukrainian drone industry to promote cooperation between the defense industries of both countries and implement joint projects,” the Defense Ministry writes.

In addition, the Latvian government has allocated another 20 million euros ($21.37 million) for the purchase of drones this year in the format of the Drone Coalition.

“It is important to support Ukraine not only in words but also in deeds. The support provided by Latvia to Ukraine has never been symbolic, we provide real assistance that contributes to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities,” said Andris Sprūds, head of the Latvian Ministry of Defense.

Latvia's assistance to Ukraine

Since the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion, Latvia has been actively supporting Ukraine by providing military, humanitarian and financial assistance. The country has donated a significant amount of weapons, including howitzers, ammunition, portable Stinger air defense systems, armored vehicles, and drones.

In addition to military support, Latvia is actively helping Ukrainian refugees. It also advocates for tougher sanctions against Russia and supports Ukraine's European integration.

RBC-Ukraine reported that Latvia recently ordered Patria 6x6 armored personnel carriers to be transferred to Ukraine.
