On the night of June 2, Russian forces carried out a combined attack on the capital – there were reports of launches of ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missiles. The consequences in the Podilskyi and Obolonskyi districts are already known, according to the post by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.
Podilskyi district
As Tkachenko reported around half past two in the night, non-residential buildings and cars were on fire in the Podilskyi district of Kyiv. At another location, missile fragments fell on the roof of a building, causing a fire and blowing out windows.
Also in the Podilskyi district, the structures of a multi-story residential building were damaged. Preliminary reports indicate that there are people trapped under the rubble, Tkachenko noted.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, for his part, added details of the combined strike on Kyiv. The official reported a fire in Podil on the territory of a non-residential building.
"Also, preliminarily, fragments fell on the roof of a 9-story building. There is a fire. Windows are also damaged," Klitschko wrote.
Medics have hospitalised one injured person in the Podilskyi district.
Obolonskyi district
Consequences of the combined Russian strike on the night of Tuesday were also recorded in the Obolonskyi district. It is known that drone fragments fell near a kindergarten there, and at another location in the district, a fire on the territory of an unfinished construction site.
Also, in Obolon, cars caught fire due to falling missile fragments. Fires were also recorded at two addresses in open areas, including near a kindergarten.
Shevchenkivskyi district
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, the façade of a residential building was damaged as a result of Russian shelling, Klitschko reported. The mayor added that due to a likely missile strike on a 24-story residential building, a fire broke out on the 4th and 5th floors.
Solomianskyi district
In the Solomianskyi district, as the mayor of Kyiv reported, fragments from what was likely a missile struck a 15-story residential building, damaging the upper floors.
Also in the Solomianskyi district, as a result of what were likely drone fragments falling onto the territory of a private estate, a fire broke out in a private house.
Sviatoshynskyi district
In the Sviatoshynskyi district, a fire occurred on the territory of a non-residential building due to falling fragments.
Darnytskyi district
Klitschko also reported that in the Darnytskyi district, a fire broke out on the territory of a gas station due to falling fragments.
Holosiivskyi district
The official also wrote about the consequences of the Russian attack in the Holosiivskyi district. There, cars caught fire in an open area.
Klitschko also noted power outages recorded in the Podilskyi, Obolonskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts.
Russian threats to Kyiv
As is known, last week, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced Russia's intention to systematically shell Kyiv. To justify its crimes, the enemy cited drone strikes on Russia by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, as a result of which the aggressor's oil refining industry suffered significant losses.
Moscow even called on representatives of diplomatic missions from other countries to leave the Ukrainian capital ahead of the announced attacks. However, the United States, for example, denied that its ambassadors would leave Kyiv and called on Russia to de-escalate.
