On the night of June 2, Russia is once again carrying out a combined attack on Ukraine using drones and missiles. Several cities have already come under enemy fire.

RBC-Ukraine reports everything known so far.

Main points:

  • The Russians have launched groups of drones, ballistic missiles, and Kalibr cruise missiles;
  • The enemy has sent strategic bombers Tu-95MS and Tu-160 into the air;
  • Kharkiv, Dnipro, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia have come under attack;
  • Fires are reported in Kharkiv and Dnipro.

What the Russians are attacking with

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the Russians tried to attack Ukraine with drones throughout most of the day on June 1. However, towards the evening, after approximately 9:00 pm Kyiv time, entire groups of drones began to be detected in the country's airspace, and this continues as of 2:00 am.

In addition, right at the start of the new day – June 2 – the military recorded launches of Kalibr cruise missiles from the Caspian Sea. The Air Force warned that the missiles would be over Ukraine at approximately 2:00 am. However, monitoring channels indicated that the missiles had already entered at 1:10 am and were attacking Dnipro (though this is not official information).

Furthermore, according to monitoring channels, the enemy launched strategic bombers Tu-160 and Tu-95MS overnight. Preliminary reports indicate that the Tu-160s conducted launch manoeuvres at 1:25 am, while three Tu-95MS aircraft are still in the air at this time. However, we emphasise that this information is unofficial. The Air Force has not yet confirmed this.

Monitoring channels also warned that the enemy may launch MiG-31K aircraft overnight, which carry the Kinzhal aeroballistic missile.
