Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that when the US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg is in Kyiv, Russian forces do not carry out major attacks. He jokingly said he is ready to grant the general citizenship and an apartment, according to the President's Telegram channel.

"I want to thank General Kellogg especially. Honestly, we didn’t know this before, but it turns out the US has air defenses no worse than the Patriots. This is really noted every time you are here. When you are in Kyiv, residents can definitely get a good night’s sleep," Zelenskyy said.

He also expressed a wish for the American general to visit all Ukrainian cities.

"We would really like a few more of these American systems. This isn’t entirely a joke. When the US president’s envoy is in Kyiv, there are no massive attacks. Killers refrain from killing. With representatives from other countries, this doesn’t work," the President emphasized.

Such "air defense" could even work with China

The President suggested it might also work with a Chinese representative. However, it seems Beijing is not interested in stopping, if not the entire war, at least the attacks.

"This doesn’t work with representatives of international organizations either. When the UN Secretary-General was in Kyiv, Putin carried out strikes. The same happened with OSCE, NATO, IMF visits," Zelenskyy recalled.

Therefore, the US has the power to influence Russian leader Vladimir Putin enough that he at least adjusts his behavior, the President noted.

"It’s very interesting how this works. I remember when the Chinese representative went to Russia, they really sent us signals from Beijing so we wouldn’t use long-range weapons while China was in Russia. I wonder, does it work the same way with Russia?" Zelenskyy said.

He suggested that this "might be a way to implement the ceasefire that US President Donald Trump mentioned back in February."

"I am ready to grant General Kellogg citizenship. Everything he needs, an apartment - if it motivates Russia to stop firing," added the Ukrainian President.

Visit of Kellogg to Kyiv

Since yesterday, US President Trump’s Special Envoy, Keith Kellogg, has been on a new visit to Kyiv.

He met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss various cooperation directions, ways to achieve peace, and guarantees for Ukraine’s security.

They also talked about putting pressure on Russia, the trilateral leaders’ format, and the issue of returning Ukrainian children abducted by Russia.

This is not General Kellogg’s first visit to Ukraine. At the end of August, on Independence Day, the US Special Envoy visited Kyiv. He took part in official celebrations, attended a prayer breakfast, and held meetings with Ukrainian leadership. That trip lasted several days.

Earlier, in July, Kellogg also visited the capital. His visits are notable because during the American general’s stay in Kyiv, Russia refrains from carrying out massive missile strikes on the city.
