During a Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of November 14, a mobile fire unit of the Kyiv police destroyed a Russian copy of the Iranian Shahed drone that was attempting to strike the city, reports the National Police of Ukraine.
The mobile fire unit helped repel the Russian drone assault on the capital. Officers detected one of the enemy's strike drones and destroyed it almost immediately.
"A precise shot — and one more occupier drone down. We operate 24/7, remain on guard, and help strengthen the city's air defense," the police said.
Earlier that night, Russia launched another large-scale attack on Ukraine using 19 missiles and 430 strike drones, including aeroballistic Kinzhal missiles and ballistic Iskander-M/KN-23 missiles.
The main strike targeted Kyiv, where seven civilians were killed and 35 others wounded, according to preliminary reports. Among the dead is the widow of Chornobyl operator Valeriy Khodemchuk, the first casualty of the 1986 disaster, whose apartment was hit by a Russian Shahed drone.
