What and when the Russian army used to strike
On the night of July 8, at approximately 12:30 am Kyiv time, a loud series of explosions rang out in Kyiv. However, at that moment, there was no air raid alert or official warnings about the threat of an attack.
A few minutes later, the air raid alert finally sounded in the city, and the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, along with local authorities, reported a ballistic attack on the city.
Later, at 12:53 am, explosions were heard again in Kyiv. Residents of the capital were warned about repeated missile launches.
First consequences of the attack
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that, as of now, the consequences of the attack have been recorded in two districts — Desnianskyi and Sviatoshynskyi.
More details on each are below.
Desnianskyi district
A Russian missile strike was recorded in this district, causing warehouses to catch fire.
Sviatoshynskyi district
Here, according to Klitschko, a fire broke out in a non-residential building.
Attacks on Kyiv
The last combined strike on Kyiv occurred on the night of July 6. That night, Russian units attacked the capital with ballistic missiles, drones, and cruise missiles.
As a result of the attack, consequences were recorded in several districts — Podilskyi, Darnytskyi, Obolonskyi, and Holosiivskyi. In particular, residential and non-residential buildings, as well as other structures, were partially destroyed. On Tuesday, July 7, search-and-rescue operations were completed.
The region also came under attack, specifically the town of Vyshneve. As a result of the incident, nearly 300 homes are currently known to have been damaged.
