Kyiv rescue mission ends after devastating Russian attack

On July 7, search and rescue operations were completed in Kyiv at two locations in the Podil and Darnytsia districts following a Russian attack. Another important phase of recovery efforts has already begun, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Following the completion of the search and rescue operation, emergency repair and restoration work began at the sites of the strikes.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports that 19 people, including a child, were killed in Kyiv as a result of the massive Russian attack on the night of July 6. Another 61 civilians, including 7 children, were injured.
A total of 394 rescue workers and 95 pieces of equipment from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine were deployed to address the aftermath of the strike. Specialists dismantled unstable structures, removed over 1,500 metric tons of construction debris, and cleared building structures covering an area of approximately 305 square meters.
Work is currently ongoing: rescue workers continue to dismantle dangerous structures in the damaged buildings and remove construction debris.
"We express our sincere condolences to all the families and loved ones of those who died. May their memories live on! We wish a speedy recovery to all those injured," the State Emergency Service of Ukraine adds.

Russia's attack on Kyiv and region on July 6
Overnight on July 6, Russia launched a combined attack on Ukraine with missiles and strike drones. The most severe damage was recorded in Kyiv and the surrounding region, specifically in Vyshneve, Bucha district.
There, Russia destroyed nearly five streets and damaged dozens of buildings. Hundreds of residents were evacuated from the city due to the risk of secondary explosions.
On July 7, a Day of Mourning was declared in the Kyiv region for those who were killed by Russia.
