The press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, urged people not to make premature conclusions about a quick end to the war, Kommersant reports.

"One should not draw premature conclusions about the conflict in Ukraine being close to an end," Peskov said.

Putin's press secretary also noted that in various countries, including the United States, there would supposedly still be many people trying to derail the peace process between Ukraine and Russia.

US peace plan

American and Russian officials developed a peace plan to end Russia's war against Ukraine.

It consists of 28 points and includes, in particular, the transfer of part of the Donbas territory to Russia in exchange for providing Ukraine and the EU with long-term security guarantees, a reduction in the size of the Ukrainian army, a rejection of long-range weapons, and other measures.

Earlier, it became known that Russians were likely involved in drafting the plan — certain unusual phrases in the document point to this. Western media suspected that some of them had originally been written in Russian.

In addition, Bloomberg published a transcript of a phone conversation between US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian representatives, during which he advised them on how to promote the peace plan to US President Donald Trump.

On November 23, high-ranking officials from Ukraine and the United States met in Geneva to discuss the peace plan. Europeans were also present at the meeting.

After the talks, the Financial Times reported that the document had been significantly shortened — from 28 points to 19.
