The Kremlin expects a visit by US President Donald Trump’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner after the signing of a memorandum between the United States and Iran, states Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, according to RIA Novosti.

The signing of the memorandum between the two countries is scheduled for June 19 in Geneva.

"As I reported following the Sunday conversation between our president and Mr. Trump, we expect that after the signing of the memorandum on Friday, there will be an opportunity for two well-known representatives, Witkoff and Kushner, to come to Moscow for a meeting with our leadership," Ushakov said.

European leaders have stated their readiness to play a key role in negotiations on ending the full-scale war in Ukraine. In Berlin, it was emphasized that this process will be coordinated in close cooperation with the United States.

At the same time, the head of the Office of the President, Kyrylo Budanov, reported that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner plan to visit Kyiv in the near future. According to him, after the visit to Ukraine, they are expected to travel to Moscow.

Earlier, Western media reported that the Kremlin is increasingly dissatisfied with the regular visits of Witkoff and Kushner. The Russian side is allegedly insisting on changing the format of the negotiation process for a peace settlement.

In addition, some Russian senior officials acknowledge that the war against Ukraine has reached a deadlock and that there is currently no safe scenario for exiting the conflict.
