Russian leader Vladimir Putin is ready to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but only to finalize agreements, stated Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov in a comment to Vesti.

He stressed that the key point is for a meeting between the two leaders to be meaningful and produce results.

"The main thing is the purpose of the meeting. There has to be a reason to meet, and the meeting must be productive. It can only take place to finalize agreements," Peskov said.

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that Zelenskyy is ready to meet with the Russian leader if US President Donald Trump and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also take part in the talks.

Earlier, the Ukrainian President said that upcoming negotiations should lead to a leaders-level meeting, as this format is necessary to reach decisions on territorial issues.

Recently, US Vice President JD Vance, commenting on the negotiation process to resolve the war in Ukraine, questioned the point of arguing over "a few square kilometers."

Responding to Vance’s remarks, Zelenskyy noted that he is not involved in the trilateral talks. The President also stressed that one of Russia’s key goals has always been the occupation of Ukrainian territory in one form or another.

RBC-Ukraine also reported that Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s intelligence, said Ukraine will hear "a lot of new things" from Russia in the next round of talks. He emphasized that attacks on Russian terminals are influencing the negotiation process.
