Reaching a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia will take a long time, says Putin's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.
"Reaching a peace agreement will take a long time," Peskov says.
According to him, the US wants to speed up the negotiations, but the process of ending the war against Ukraine allegedly remains too complicated.
The Kremlin also claims that the path to peace will be very long and will depend on complex details.
Peace talks
Three rounds of negotiations have already taken place between Ukraine, Russia, and the US regarding ending the war.
A new round of trilateral talks was supposed to take place in early March, but it was postponed because the US launched an operation against Iran.
According to him, negotiations are unnecessary until Ukraine withdraws its troops from Donbas.
Ushakov believes that dialogue on ending the war is currently a waste of time.
Meanwhile, the Office of the President of Ukraine responded to these statements, noting that the Kremlin does not actually plan to cease hostilities even if it gains control over Donbas, and that such ultimatums only reveal Russia's true expansionist plans.
Meanwhile, Ukraine is expecting a visit from representatives of US President Donald Trump to Kyiv in late spring or early summer.
