The Kremlin has expressed "deep concern" over the potential delivery of long-range American Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian dictator, Dmitry Peskov, according to Russian media.
"The topic of Tomahawks causes us extreme concern, as President (of Russia, Vladimir – ed.) Putin has already mentioned," Peskov said.
He added that statements about the possible delivery of this weapon are being carefully recorded. The spokesman also emphasized the potential capabilities of the missiles.
"This weapon is special; it can be in a non-nuclear or nuclear configuration. It has long range; it is a serious weapon," Peskov added.
He also used speculation about a "dirty bomb" to heighten tension.
"Imagine a missile with a long range taking off and flying. And we know it could be in a nuclear configuration. What should one think about the Russian Federation? How? Military experts across the ocean should understand this," the Kremlin spokesman said.
Peskov concluded that, in the Kremlin's view, this is currently "a very dramatic moment in terms of tensions rising from all sides." Nevertheless, he once again stated Russia's alleged readiness for negotiations.
"The Russian side continues to say that we are ready for a peaceful settlement. And we also hear that Trump keeps saying the need to sit at the negotiating table. From this, we conclude that he still maintains political will. But the Europeans, the Kyiv regime, show absolutely no desire to act in this direction," Peskov said.
Trump and Zelenskyy discussed Tomahawk deliveries
It should be noted that yesterday, October 11, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with US President Donald Trump.
According to one source, the discussion between the presidents lasted about 30 minutes. Zelenskyy described it as "very positive and productive" in his statement.
The Ukrainian president congratulated Trump on the peace deal in Gaza and noted that if this war could be stopped, "then, certainly, other wars, including the war with Russia, can be stopped as well."
Zelenskyy also mentioned agreements with Trump on strengthening air defense. More details on what the president said after the conversation with Trump can be found in RBC-Ukraine's report.
It is worth noting that not long ago, US President Donald Trump surprised everyone by announcing an almost finalized decision to deliver Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
For more details on the reasoning behind this decision and whether the Ukrainian Armed Forces will actually receive the American strategic missiles, see the RBC-Ukraine report.
