As a result of the Russian shelling of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region, the number of fatalities has risen to 10. 35 people have been injured, reports the Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko.

According to Klymenko, the fire in a shopping center covering 1,000 square meters has been extinguished. The State Emergency Service, law enforcement officers, and paramedics are working at the scene.

As of 1:52 PM Kyiv time, the data includes:

  • 10 fatalities,
  • 35 injured.

During the shelling, the following were damaged:

  • Residential buildings,
  • Shops,
  • More than a dozen vehicles.

"The enemy attacks, we rescue and protect. Thanks to everyone who is supporting the victims," added the Minister of Internal Affairs.

Shelling of Kostiantynivka on August 9

According to local Telegram channels, the Russians shelled Kostiantynivka around 11:00. The Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, reported that the enemy used artillery during the attacks. In particular, a Nova Poshta post office was hit.

Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy showed a video of the aftermath of the shelling and added that people were trapped under the rubble.
