Israeli army eliminates Hezbollah commander
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) eliminated Jalal Mustafa Hariri, a commander of Hezbollah. He was leading the group in the Qana area of southern Lebanon, according to the IDF's Telegram channel.
The operation was carried out under the direction of the Israeli Army's Northern Command.
Hariri, in his role as commander, was responsible for planning and executing numerous terrorist attacks against Israel from the Qana area in southern Lebanon. Alongside him, Hezbollah terrorists involved in artillery strikes and anti-tank missile launches from the region were also eliminated.
The IDF stated that their removal represents a significant blow to the terrorist organization Hezbollah.
As of the afternoon of October 16, approximately 90 projectiles launched by Lebanese terrorists had crossed into Israeli territory.
Israel-Hezbollah war escalation
Since the beginning of October, the Israeli army has been conducting a ground military operation in southern Lebanon aimed at pushing Hezbollah terrorists away from Israel's northern border. According to recent reports, the IDF has lost 15 soldiers during this operation.
Simultaneously with the incursion, Israeli forces are actively targeting leaders of the Iran-backed group.
At the end of September, an airstrike on Beirut resulted in the elimination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
Hashem Safieddine was named the new leader of the group, but he was also reportedly killed in an IDF airstrike, although this has not been officially confirmed.
Additionally, Israeli forces eliminated a senior member of the Hamas Military Wing Saeed Atallah Ali in Lebanon.
