US Senator Lindsey Graham believes that a trilateral meeting could end the war by Christmas. Without negotiations, the US may increase pressure on Russia and other countries, according to Graham’s statement on Fox News.

Graham expressed cautious optimism about the possible end of the war in Ukraine if a trilateral meeting takes place between US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

According to Graham, in the event of such a meeting, the conflict could end well before Christmas.

At the same time, the senator emphasized that if negotiations do not take place, Trump may impose serious consequences against Putin and against countries that continue to buy Russian oil and gas.

Trump-Putin summit in Alaska

On the evening of August 15, in Anchorage, Alaska, US President Donald Trump met with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. The main topic of the talks was Russia’s military actions in Ukraine.

The negotiations lasted about three hours, although initially at least six were planned.

As a result, Trump described the conversation as "extremely productive," but no agreements on a ceasefire were reached.
