Israel strikes weapons production facility and Hezbollah command center in Lebanon
Israeli military forces conducted strikes against military targets of the Hezbollah group in southern Lebanon. The attacks included a weapons manufacturing facility and a militant command center, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
In a statement, the Israeli military reported that on September 10, following an evening alert, aerial targets were detected entering Israeli territory from Lebanon in the Upper Galilee region (northern part of the country). Air defense forces engaged.
"Some of the targets were intercepted. Fallen targets were identified in an area adjacent to Amiad," the IDF said, adding that no information on possible casualties had been received.
The statement also noted that Israeli forces, based on intelligence data, struck a Hezbollah weapons manufacturing facility in the Joueia area in southern Lebanon.
Additionally, the IDF reported that strikes were carried out against a Hezbollah command center near military structures in the Nabaiteh, Mansouri, and Kfarkela areas, also located in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli Defense Forces also mentioned that on September 10, a terrorist cell operating from a military structure in the Hula area in southern Lebanon was targeted.
The IDF released video footage of strikes on Hezbollah targets in the Houla, Nabaiteh, and Mansouri areas of Lebanon.
Shelling from Lebanon and Israeli strikes
Exchanges of fire between Israel and Lebanon, where the Iran-backed Islamist group Hezbollah operates, are not uncommon. However, the frequency of strikes has significantly increased recently, amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
On July 27, Hezbollah struck a stadium in the Golan Heights in Israel, resulting in the deaths of over 10 children and injuring more than 30 people.
Israel stated that Hezbollah's attack would not go unanswered and warned Lebanon of a potentially devastating war.
Additionally, on August 20, the Israeli army targeted Hezbollah's warehouses in the Bekaa Valley. Recently, Israeli forces also struck Hezbollah targets in the Maroun al-Ras and Aita al-Shaab areas in southern Lebanon.
On August 25, Hezbollah militants from Lebanon fired hundreds of rockets and drones at Israel. The IDF responded with strikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.
In early September, the IDF announced that Israel had struck Hezbollah's launch sites in response to attacks from Lebanon.
