The IDF reported strikes on Hezbollah military sites in the Maroun al-Ras and Aita al-Shaab areas in southern Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that the Israeli army had attacked southern Lebanon.
"At least nine people were killed and five wounded by an Israeli strike on a residential building in Nabatieh city in southern Lebanon," the statement read.
Situation in the Middle East
In recent weeks, tension in the region has significantly increased following a deadly rocket attack by Hezbollah terrorists on the Golan Heights, which resulted in the deaths of children playing on a football field.
In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) eliminated a high-ranking commander in the suburbs of Beirut.
Since then, the Israeli army and Hezbollah have been exchanging mutual rocket strikes almost daily. The terrorists have also vowed to retaliate against Israel for the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
On August 12, Lebanese militants launched dozens of rockets toward Israel. In response, the IDF attacked Hezbollah military targets in the areas of Kfar Kila, Marwahin, and Mays al-Jabal.
On August 14, Hezbollah terrorists fired 25 rockets at northern Israel, targeting a military base.
