Militants from the Islamic group Hezbollah launched approximately 25 rockets from Lebanon into the Upper Galilee region in northern Israel, according to The Times of Israel and the Israel Defense Forces.

Sirens were heard in the area of Mount Meron, as well as in the towns of Hurfeish, Elkosh, Fassuta, and Beit Jann.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), approximately 15 projectiles were found on-site, having crossed from Lebanese territory and landed in open areas. There have been no reports of casualties.

Social media videos show some of the locations where the rockets landed.

The attack has been claimed by the Hezbollah group. The target of the strikes was an Israeli military base located in the area.

Escalation in the Middle East

On July 31, Israel carried out an airstrike that killed Hezbollah's chief military commander, Fuad Shoukri, in Lebanon.

Following this, Hezbollah militants announced their intention to carry out a massive retaliatory strike against Israel, even without Iranian assistance.

The Israeli Army and Hezbollah militants have been exchanging rocket and drone attacks.

On Monday, August 12, Lebanon launched dozens of rockets toward Israel.

In response, the Israeli Air Force targeted Hezbollah military sites in the areas of Kfar Kela, Marwahin, and Mays al-Jabal.

Additionally, on Tuesday, August 13, the Israel Defense Forces struck two Hezbollah launchers in the areas of At-Tiri and Zibqin in southern Lebanon, which were preparing to fire rockets at Israeli territory.
