Israel has asked the United States for permission to expand the scale of military strikes on Beirut. This comes amid a complete lack of progress in diplomatic negotiations with Tehran and the Lebanese side, according to The Jerusalem Post.

Israeli officials hope for a favorable response from the White House and insist that there have been no results in negotiations with Hezbollah. According to two sources of the publication, the Israeli side expects the US to allow expanded operations in the Lebanese capital. However, the international community is reacting extremely sharply to such intentions: Western allies are calling for immediate de-escalation.

British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper called on Israel to cease its operations in Lebanon:

"Israel's military escalation in Lebanon has killed and displaced civilians, destroyed infrastructure, and eroded space for diplomacy."

Assault on the highlands and control over southern Lebanon

While diplomatic disputes continue, the IDF reports significant successes on the ground. The military is acting decisively. The Israeli army has established control over a strategic outpost on the Beaufort Ridge. Areas of Wadi al-Saluki have also been captured.

This is a deep advance into southern Lebanon. Before the offensive, the Israeli Air Force, artillery, and tanks carried out massive strikes on Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure.

Germany has already expressed its concern. Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul called on all parties to the conflict to cease hostilities immediately.

Hezbollah attacks and panic on Israeli beaches

Meanwhile, Hezbollah fighters are also not stopping their attacks on IDF military facilities, but civilians are suffering as a result. In northern Israel, the weekend turned into a nightmare for vacationers.

On the popular Nahariya beach, people fled the water in panic as shells fell into the sea. Hezbollah officially claimed responsibility for attacks on barracks in the Shomera area and a military base in the Ya'ara area. These bases are located next to a civilian beach.

What else is known about the fighting between Hezbollah and Israel

Israel has ordered the urgent evacuation of residents from southern Lebanon. The front line has now officially shifted to the Zahrani River, which flows approximately 40 kilometers from the Israeli border.

Additionally, the Israeli army has actively begun creating mini-air forces. These drone units will participate in operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah fighters have increasingly been using drones to attack Israeli soldiers and their equipment. Recently, the group reported 12 attacks on IDF military infrastructure.
