On Monday, Iran presented a 10-point proposal to end the war with the US and Israel. The plan was transmitted through Pakistan, which is acting as a mediator in the negotiations, according to The New York Times.

All 10 points of the proposal are not known, but according to two senior Iranian officials, Iran demands:

  • Guarantees that it will not be attacked again;
  • The lifting of all sanctions;
  • A halt to Israeli strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

In return, Iran will end the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and impose a $2 million fee on each vessel, which it will share with Oman, located on the opposite shore.

According to the plan, Iran will use its share of the revenues to restore infrastructure destroyed by US and Israeli attacks. This approach is proposed instead of demanding direct compensation.

Iranian state media clarified that the text of their country's proposal rejects a ceasefire and emphasizes the need for a definitive end to the war in accordance with Iran's considerations.

Earlier, on March 24, the US sent its own 15-point proposal to end the war to Pakistan. However, Iran rejected it and sent back a list of counter-proposals, some of which were repeated in the plan presented on Monday.

Peace or war with renewed force

In recent days, US President Donald Trump issued a new ultimatum to Iran. He called on the country to open the Strait of Hormuz by 8:00 PM Tuesday (Washington time), otherwise the US will bomb bridges and power plants and unleash a hellish night.

Meanwhile, behind-the-scenes negotiations continue, but there is no concrete result yet. In particular, according to CNN, Trump rejected a 45-day ceasefire proposal put forward by Pakistan, Egypt, and Türkiye.
