Iran’s regime ridiculed the deadline set a day earlier by US President Donald Trump. The American leader warned he could unleash a night of hell on Iran, according to a post by Iran’s embassy in Zimbabwe on X, and Trump’s press conference.
Trolling from Tehran
Iran’s embassy in Zimbabwe published an ironic response to Trump’s deadline. Diplomats mocked the timing of the ultimatum, suggesting the US should adjust to their schedule.
"8 p.m. is not that good. Could you change it to between 1 and 2 p.m., or if possible, 1 and 2 a.m.? Thank you for your attention to this important matter," the post says.
Trump’s threats in response
At a press conference, Donald Trump said the United States’ technological capabilities would allow it to resolve the Iran issue instantly.
"The entire country can be taken out in one night, and that night might be tomorrow night," he said.
Meanwhile, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth at the same press conference announced new strikes on Iran.
"Today will be the largest volume of strikes since day one of this operation. Tomorrow, even more than today. And then Iran has a choice. Choose wisely. Because this president does not play around," he said.
Trump’s deadline
Yesterday, April 5, US President Donald Trump warned that if Iran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz by 8:00 p.m. ET on April 7, the United States would destroy Iranian power plants and more.
After that, reports emerged that mediator countries had proposed a 45-day ceasefire between the US and Iran.
It later became known that both sides rejected the proposal.
