Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian thanked Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Russian for "inspiration in the war" with the United States in his post on X.

"Statements by President Putin and the support of the Russian people inspire us in this war. The resistance and courage of the Iranian people promise new ties that will ensure the security of East Asia by the countries of the region. On behalf of the people of Iran, I thank the government and the people of Russia," his statement reads.

It is worth noting that the Iranian President’s post was published on the social network X, which is blocked in both Iran and Russia.

Russia’s support for Iran

Recently, the Kremlin openly stated that Russia is not a neutral party in the conflict between Iran and Israel. Russia’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Andrey Kelin, emphasized that Russia officially supports Tehran, calling the actions of Western countries in this situation unfair.

In addition, Iranian authorities have for the first time acknowledged providing military assistance to Russia. While such cooperation had previously been concealed, Tehran now confirms that arms supplies and joint defense projects are part of a strategic alliance between the two countries.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently said that Ukrainian intelligence has information confirming that Russia is assisting Iran with intelligence data.

In an interview with Reuters, he also stated that Russia attempted to pressure the United States by offering to stop sharing intelligence with Iran in exchange for halting US intelligence support to Ukraine.
