On Monday, May 4, Iran attacked the United Arab Emirates with four missiles and drones. Three missiles were successfully intercepted over the UAE’s territorial waters, while another fell into the sea, according to the country’s Defense Ministry and CNN.
The UAE Ministry of Defense said that the sounds heard in some areas of the country were the result of the successful interception of aerial threats.
"Four loitering munitions coming from Iran towards the country were detected, where three missiles were successfully intercepted over the country's territorial waters, and the last one fell into the sea. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the sounds heard in scattered areas of the country are the result of the successful interception of the aerial threats," the statement says.
In addition, the ministry urged the citizens to rely on official sources for information, verify facts, and follow all public safety measures during alerts.
CNN reported that a warning about a potential missile threat was issued in the UAE today for the first time in less than a month since the start of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
The alert was issued in Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman. Shortly afterward, an all-clear alert was issued.
US-Iran talks on ending the war
In late April 2026, Iran submitted a new proposal to the United States on ending the war and restoring security in the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, Tehran suggested postponing discussions on nuclear issues to a later stage, focusing instead on peace.
It later emerged that Iran had passed the text of a new peace plan for talks with the United States to Pakistan, with the main priority being a ceasefire and achieving peace.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said that the United States had already secured victory over Iran. However, he stressed that the nuclear threat from Tehran still remains, and that Washington intends to achieve an even greater advantage. On May 1, Trump informed Congress that the war with Iran had ended.
RBC-Ukraine also reported that the UAE had asked the United States for funding in case the war in the Middle East continues.
