If Russia has already prepared its memorandum with proposals for a ceasefire, it should hand it over to Ukraine right away, said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

"Why wait until Monday? If the Russians have finally elaborated on their 'memorandum' — after ten days of reflections and attacks — it can be passed to us right away," Sybiha said.

He added that Ukraine expects the Russian side not to derail the next meeting and to promptly submit its proposals for consideration by the Ukrainian side, as previously agreed.

"Only a well-prepared meeting has the potential to produce tangible results," the minister emphasized.

The memorandum for peace

Recall that during the Ukraine-Russia talks in Istanbul on May 16, it became known that the parties agreed to put their views on a possible ceasefire in writing.

Later, after a conversation with US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia would prepare a memorandum concerning a potential future peace agreement.

Earlier, Reuters reported that Russian President Putin had outlined conditions for ending the war in Ukraine.

At the same time, it became known that Russia proposed to Ukraine holding a second round of negotiations on a ceasefire on Monday, June 2, in Istanbul.

Today, Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stated that Ukraine has handed over its memorandum to the Russian side. Now Russia has at least four days to submit its document with ceasefire proposals to Kyiv.
