Russian troops have started the third wave of the offensive in the Avdiivka sector. As a result, the occupiers' losses increased dramatically, reported Oleksandr Shtupun, spokesperson for the Unified Press Center of the Defense Forces of the Tavria direction.

"Yesterday, the Russian occupants launched the third wave of active actions as part of their offensive in the Avdiivka sector. Accordingly, their losses have increased rapidly. The invaders have engaged a significant number of armored vehicles," said Shtupun.

According to him, Ukrainian soldiers completely destroyed three tanks and seven other armored vehicles over the past day. And that's only in the Avdiivka sector.

The spokesperson also provided details on 80% of destroyed enemy equipment in the Avdiivka area, which was reported yesterday.

"It was one specific attack. It consisted of two convoys. Approximately up to 15 units of equipment. And 80% of it was destroyed," explained Shtupun.

Situation in the Avdiivka sector

In early October, the occupiers intensified their offensive in the Avdiivka area. It has become the largest attack since 2014. It is known that the Russian invaders are having some success. Their main goal is to surround and then capture the "gateway to Donetsk".

According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, during the month when the occupiers intensified their activities near Avdiivka, Russia lost about 10,000 soldiers in this area.

And President Volodymyr Zelenskyy calls the Russian losses near Avdiivka more extensive than those near Bakhmut.

According to military expert Oleksandr Kovalenko, the Russian occupiers near Avdiivka may rely on new tactics. The reason for this is the enemy's huge losses in this area.

Yesterday, the spokesperson for the Unified Press Center of the Defense Forces of the Tavria direction, Oleksandr Shtupun, said that Russian troops had sent several mechanized columns with armored vehicles forward near Avdiivka. However, the offensive failed, and the invaders lost almost 80% of their equipment.

Today it became known that the occupiers have already launched the third wave of the offensive in the Avdiivka sector. Despite active attacks, the enemy continues to suffer heavy losses.
