Houthis claim new British and U.S. strikes on Yemen
British and American troops have launched new strikes on military targets in Yemen, according to Al Arabiya.
As noted, the UK and U.S. strikes targeted a Houthi facility north of Hodeidah province.
Strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen
In November, a Shiite Zaidi paramilitary group, also known as the Yemeni Houthis, launched attacks on civilian vessels with ties to Israel in the Red Sea. This is happening against the backdrop of Israel's war with Hamas, which is supported by Yemeni militants and Iran.
On January 10, the Houthis conducted one of the largest attacks in the Red Sea in recent months. The U.S. Navy shot down 24 missiles and UAVs launched from Yemen.
On the night of January 12, the armed forces of the United States and the United Kingdom, with the support of Australia, Bahrain, Canada, and the Netherlands, conducted joint strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen. Aircraft and ships were involved in the operation. The strikes targeted weapons storage centers and militant training bases. The strikes hit 60 targets in 16 locations.
On the night of January 13, the United States and its allies conducted a second round of strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen. They attacked 12 militant locations.
However, despite this, the Houthis still continue to attack ships.
Biden said that the Yemeni Houthis should be recognized as a terrorist group.
