Head of Ukraine's Presidential Office assesses whether US may withdraw from peace talks

US President Donald Trump definitely will not want to be involved in a negotiation process that has no end, Andriy Yermak, Head of the Presidential Office, says in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
At the same time, Yermak noted that Ukraine will not give the United States the impression that the negotiation process is endless.
"If they (USA - ed.) ever get that feeling, it will only be due to the Russian Federation. And if that happens, I believe America will stand with Ukraine," Yermak emphasized.
According to the Head of the Presidential Office, recent developments, such as the Economic Partnership Agreement, show that Ukraine still has far greater chances of "being partners and friends with the US."
US threatens to withdraw from peace negotiations
Recently, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the United States may exit the peace process if there is no prospect of a quick agreement between Ukraine and Russia in the near future. US President Donald Trump also confirmed that the American side may indeed withdraw from the talks if either side obstructs peace.
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi stated that Ukraine does not view the strong public statements made by American officials as a threat of US withdrawal from the peace negotiations. According to Tykhyi, this is rather a part of Washington's communication strategy aimed at accelerating diplomatic efforts.
