Harris' campaign raised $500 million a month - Reuters
US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has raised an unprecedented $500 million for her election campaign, citing Reuters.
Sources informed the outlet that the funds were collected within four weeks following her official entry into the presidential race on July 21, signaling strong enthusiasm among donors ahead of the November 5 election.
Harris managed to raise the first $200 million in just the first week of her campaign. This achievement underscores the strong support she has garnered within the Democratic Party after President Joe Biden decided not to run due to unsuccessful debates with Republican Donald Trump.
In total, Harris’s team raised $310 million in July, which, combined with previous funds raised by Biden, helped surpass the $1 billion mark—a record-breaking milestone in the history of election campaigns.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump's campaign raised $138.7 million in July, with $327 million remaining in its accounts. Although Trump’s campaign outpaced Biden’s in fundraising during the second quarter, Harris continues to attract large sums through small-donor contributions and massive rallies across the country.
