Massive drone attack on Kyiv, June 17
Russia carried out a large-scale overnight drone attack on Kyiv, launching Shahed-type combat drones at the capital.
During the attack, power outages occurred in two districts of the city, though Mayor Vitalii Klitschko stated this was due to automatic systems being triggered.
He also confirmed that a US citizen died during the assault on Kyiv. The consequences of the attack were recorded at 12 locations across 6 districts of the capital. More details on the strike can be found in the RBC-Ukraine report.
Debris also struck and damaged a dormitory of the Kyiv Aviation Institute (formerly National Aviation University). Casualties were reported in several areas of the city.
