Greece proposes new trade corridor linking the Ukrainian city of Odesa to the Balkans

Odesa could become part of a new project involving the creation of a transport corridor from Greece, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced at the Ukraine-Southeast Europe summit held in Odesa, Ukraine.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis expressed his vision of Odesa becoming part of an ambitious transport project that would start at the port of Alexandroupoli, continue through Constanța, and conclude in the Ukrainian city.
He noted that the initiative could be financed by the European Union and would include gas pipelines, railway infrastructure, and electricity connections.
The project would create an additional corridor for Ukraine, allowing goods to be transported much faster by sea, according to the prime minister.
Gas supply via the Balkans
Earlier, Ukraine's National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities simplified the process for importing gas through the Trans-Balkan corridor.
This measure is expected to strengthen Ukraine's energy security amid the ongoing full-scale war with Russia.
