Ukraine will receive a three-digit number of air-to-air missiles from Germany, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated following the Ramstein meeting.
"We have delivered another IRIS-T system to Ukraine. Recently, we have also accelerated the supply of guided IRIS-T SLS and SLM missiles," he noted.
The German minister stressed that the air-to-air missiles will be provided from Berlin’s own stockpiles.
Earlier, Pistorius also announced that Germany would allocate an additional $400 million in military aid to Ukraine. According to him, the funds will go toward air defense systems, ammunition, and missiles for the Patriot systems.
In addition, UK Defence Secretary Dan Jarvis said London would send a new large-scale military aid package to Kyiv, including radars, air defence missiles, and domestically produced drones.
Pistorius also stated that Russian leader Vladimir Putin has reached a dead end in the war against Ukraine. According to him, prolonging the war only increases Russia’s losses and internal problems.
On June 18, Ukraine set a new record for the number of drones launched in a single day. The figure exceeded both Ukraine’s previous record and the largest drone attack carried out by Russia during the entire war.
