Germany is not currently considering the transfer of Taurus long-range missiles to Ukraine, which are capable of striking targets at a distance of up to 500 kilometers, states German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius during a briefing with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Pistorius was asked whether Germany is considering the transfer of Taurus missiles to Ukraine.

"You asked me whether we are considering it, and my answer is – no," the German defense minister stated.

Taurus missiles for Ukraine

Ukraine is already receiving long-range missiles from France, the United Kingdom, and the United States. However, Germany remains hesitant about such deliveries for now.

Even though Chancellor Friedrich Merz has openly supported the transfer of Taurus missiles to Ukraine, no such deliveries have taken place yet.

On May 27, the German tabloid Bild, citing government sources, reported that no decision had been made regarding the supply of Taurus missiles to Ukraine.

At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said after his meeting with Merz that work on the potential transfer of German missiles is ongoing. However, he and the chancellor agreed not to discuss the matter publicly.
