Germany has allocated additional funds to repair Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The amount of assistance is 7.27 million euros, according to Tagesschau.

The German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy is providing Ukraine with another €7.27 million to repair its energy infrastructure through the KfW. The funds have been transferred to the Energy Support Fund, which has also received contributions from other international donors since 2022.

Ukraine uses the fund to finance the purchase of spare parts and equipment to repair the destroyed energy infrastructure.

Energy truce

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed introducing a ceasefire in the air and at sea as the first steps to resolve the war. Following a meeting between the Ukrainian and US teams in Saudi Arabia on March 11, the US side proposed a comprehensive truce. Ukraine agreed to the proposal, but Russia did not give a final answer.

During their conversation last week, US President Donald Trump and Russia's Vladimir Putin allegedly agreed to stop strikes on the Ukrainian energy sector.

However, Russia continues to strike. According to Dmytro Lytvyn, the Presidential Communications Advisor, Russia has struck at least two times at Ukraine's energy sector. In particular, Russian attacks damaged energy infrastructure in the Kherson and Poltava regions.
