Co-leader of the German far-right party, Tino Chrupalla, stated that Ukraine must cede part of its territories to Russia. The Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany, Oleksiy Makeiev, sharply reacted to such words on the social network X.

What Chrupalla said

In an interview, the co-chairman of the far-right party Alternative for Germany, Tino Chrupalla, stated that ceding Ukrainian territories would be a better alternative to Germany’s involvement in the war.

"We may not like it when it comes to territorial concessions, but I always ask: what is the alternative? Do we want to fight, as some wish, until Russia is defeated? Do we believe that we can defeat the largest nuclear power in the world and win this war, which is not ours?" said the politician.

Makeiev’s response

The Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany called such words "armchair diplomacy of right-wing extremists, Russia lovers, and xenophobes" and urged to give away only what belongs to them.

"Give away only what belongs to you or what you are connected to. For example, from your own family. From your own children. From your own home," he said.

The diplomat also proposed another option to Chrupalla.

"The alternative would be to ask your voters in your electoral district of Görlitz whether he can cede Görlitz or all of Saxony to Russia so that 'peace' would prevail," Makeiev noted.

Trump–Putin meeting

US President Donald Trump announced the date and place of negotiations with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin – August 15 in Alaska. According to NBC, the White House is considering the option of inviting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Trump also stated about the possibility of a territory swap between Ukraine and Russia, including the return of some lands.

In response, Zelenskyy reminded that the issue of territories is clearly enshrined in the Constitution, and Ukraine will never give its lands to the occupiers. He also emphasized that Russia is promoting the idea of such a "swap" without any guarantees.
